FHP arresta a un tirador activo sospechoso de disparar un rifle contra vehículos en la I-10
BONIFAY, Fla. – La semana pasada, los agentes de la Patrulla de Caminos de Florida respondieron a un informe de un tirador activo en el condado de Holmes. La FHP dice que, según los informes, la sospechosa era una mujer que recientemente se había marchado de un hotel local y le dijo al personal que iba a realizar un tiroteo, dirigido por “Dios” en relación con el eclipse solar.
El informe de la FHP dice que la sospechosa, conduciendo un Dodge Challenger morado con placas de Georgia, entró en la Interestatal 10 (I-10) en el marcador de 112 millas y viajó en dirección oeste.
A 5 millas de entrar a la interestatal, la sospechosa disparó múltiples tiros contra otro vehículo que viajaba a lo largo de la interestatal, impactando al auto que pasaba varias veces.
El conductor fue alcanzado por fragmentos de vidrio de la ventanilla y una bala le rozó el brazo; sin embargo, pudo conducir su vehículo hacia el arcén de la carretera, alejándose del sospechoso.
El informe dice que la sospechosa disparó contra otro vehículo cerca del marcador de millas 107, hiriendo al conductor en el cuello. La víctima fue trasladada a un hospital cercano y recibió tratamiento.
Los agentes que respondieron localizaron a la sospechosa cerca del marcador de la milla 96 y realizaron una parada de tráfico por delito grave. Después de que la sospechosa fue detenida, la FHP dice que los agentes recuperaron un AR-15 y una pistola de 9 mm dentro del Challenger morado.
La sospechosa, identificada como una mujer de Georgia de 22 años, fue detenida sin incidentes y transportada a la cárcel del condado de Holmes, donde fue acusada de intento de asesinato, agresión agravada con un arma mortal y descarga inadecuada de arma de fuego.

FHP arrests active shooter suspected of firing rifle at vehicles on I-10
BONIFAY, Fla. – Last week, Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a report of an active shooter in Holmes County. The FHP says the suspect was reportedly a female who had recently checked out of a local hotel and told the staff she was going on a shooting spree, directed by “God” in relation to the solar eclipse.
The FHP report says the suspect, driving a purple Dodge Challenger with Georgia plates, entered Interstate 10 (I-10) at the 112-mile marker and traveled westbound.
Within 5 miles of entering the interstate, the suspect fired multiple shots into another vehicle traveling along the interstate, striking the passing car multiple times.
The driver was struck by glass fragments from the window and grazed on the arm by a bullet; however, he was able to steer his vehicle onto the shoulder of the road, away from the suspect.
The report says the suspect shot at another vehicle near the 107-mile marker, hitting the driver in the neck. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and received treatment.
Responding Troopers located the suspect near the mile marker 96 and conducted a felony traffic stop. After the suspect was taken into custody, FHP says troopers recovered an AR-15 and a 9mm handgun within the purple Challenger.
The suspect, identified as a 22 year old female of Georgia, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Holmes County Jail where she was booked on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and improper discharge of firearm.
The Florida Highway Patrol Bureau of Investigations and Intelligence (BCII) is conducting the investigation.
