Tres mujeres acusadas de catorce cargos de crueldad animal agravada
CRESTVIEW, Fla. – La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Okaloosa y la Sociedad de Bienestar Animal del Panhandle (PAWS) rescataron a docenas de animales después de realizar un control de bienestar en una casa localizada en Florida Avenue cerca de Crestview el mes pasado.
Jarah Lee, de 44 años, Bonnie Sue Hahn, de 46 años, y Eveland Colbert, de 20 años, están acusadas de 14 cargos de crueldad animal agravada y 14 cargos de crueldad animal después de que los investigadores encontraron perros considerados severamente maltratados por inanición, falta de agua y atención médica, así como ganado sin agua potable. Fueron arrestados el 12 de julio.
“Fue genial poder trabajar en conjunto con PAWS y su personal para hacer cumplir las leyes de Florida,” dijo el Sheriff Eric Aden. “Junto con nuestros investigadores Michael Kruger y Nate Bowen, hicieron un trabajo sobresaliente para llevar a los animales que sufrían a un lugar seguro. Alaqua Animal Refuge también está colaborando con la misión.”
Los 41 animales encontrados en la propiedad fueron confiscados o entregados. Los perros demacrados están aumentando de peso y serán adoptables. Sin embargo, al menos uno permanece con una sonda de alimentación en este momento.

Three women charged with fourteen counts of aggravated animal cruelty
CRESTVIEW, Fla. – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) rescued dozens of animals after performing a welfare check at a home on Florida Avenue near Crestview last month.
44-year old Jarah Lee, 46-year old Bonnie Sue Hahn, and 20-year old Eveland Colbert are charged with 14 counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 14 counts of animal cruelty after investigators found dogs considered severely mistreated by starvation, lack of water, and medical care, as well as livestock with no potable water. They were arrested July 12th.
“It was great to be able to work in conjuction with PAWS and their staff to enforce Florida laws,” said Sheriff Eric Aden. “Along with our Investigators Michael Kruger and Nate Bowen, they did outstanding work to get the suffering animals to safety. Alaqua Animal Refuge is also assisting with the mission.”
All 41 animals on the property were either confiscated or surrendered. The emaciated dogs are gaining weight and will be adoptable. At least one however remains on a feeding tube at this time.
