AMC en Pensacola programa películas en español
La Costa Latina se acercó al cine AMC Pensacola 18 en W Street para establecer una programación de películas en español. La gerencia respondió rápidamente con una lista de películas que el cine está preparado para ofrecer con subtítulos en español y dobladas al español.
“Hace mucho tiempo que queremos hacer esto,” dijo Grace Resendez McCaffery, propietaria del periódico La Costa Latina. “La lista de películas actuales que estarán disponibles brinda a nuestras familias inmigrantes de habla hispana una excelente nueva opción para actividades en la comunidad.”
La primera película doblada al español se estrenará el viernes 22 de diciembre a las 7:30 p.m. La primera película subtitulada en español se proyectará el domingo a las 4:30 p.m. La Costa Latina publicará la programación de películas frecuentemente y regularmente en la página de entretenimiento (página 7) y en su página de Facebook (latinomedia).

AMC ha estado experimentando con versiones en español de largometrajes en el área de Pensacola-Mobile por un tiempo, pero las descontinuó debido a la baja asistencia. El director del cine dijo que seguirán proyectando películas dobladas y subtituladas mientras haya interés.

AMC in Pensacola schedules movies in Spanish
La Costa Latina reached out to AMC Pensacola 18 movie theater on W Street to establish a Spanish movie schedule. Management responded swiftly with a list of movies the theater is prepared to provide with Spanish subtitles and dubbed in Spanish.
“We’ve been wanting to do this for a long time,” said Grace Resendez McCaffery, owner of La Costa Latina newspaper. “The list of current movies that will be available give our Spanish speaking immigrant families a great new option for activities in the community.”
The first Spanish dubbed movie will run on Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m. The first Spanish subtitled movie will run on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. La Costa Latina will publish movie schedules on a frequent and regular basis on the entertainment page (page 7) and on their facebook page (latinomedia).

AMC has been experimenting with Spanish versions of feature films in the Pensacola-Mobile area for a while but discontinued due to low attendance. The theater manager said they will continue to show dubbed and subtitled movies as long as there is interest.
“Movies are also a great tool if you are learning another language,” McCaffery said. “I recommend them often to people requesting advice on learning Spanish or English.”
