Mobile honra a los defensores de los inmigrantes
CONDADO DE MOBILE, Ala. – El equipo de Asuntos Comunitarios del Condado de Mobile presentó a Juan Torres, su esposa Johanna y su familia con su sorpresa “Feel Good Friday.” El Sr. Torres, que tiene un corazón para servir a la comunidad, fue nominado por la Dra. Leida Javier-Ferrell, presidenta de la Asociación de Negocios Hispanoamericanos de la Costa del Golfo.
El Sr. Torres ha vivido en la Comunidad de Mobile por más de veinte años. Es cofundador y director ejecutivo de una organización sin fines de lucro llamada BELONG, que apoya a los niños y comunidades inmigrantes en Mobile. BELONG ofrece clases de tutoría y sirve como una ventanilla única para las necesidades de sus clientes con la ayuda de voluntarios dedicados y donaciones en especie. Mobile honors immigrant advocates
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. – The Mobile County Community Affairs team presented Juan Torres, his wife Johanna and his family with their “Feel Good Friday” surprise. Mr. Torres, who has a heart for serving the community, was nominated by Dr. Leida Javier-Ferrell, the president of the Hispanic American Business Association of the Gulf Coast.
Mr. Torres has lived in the Mobile Community for over twenty years. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of a non-profit organization called BELONG, which supports immigrant children and communities in Mobile. BELONG offers tutoring classes and serves as a one-stop shop for their client’s needs with the help of committed volunteers and in-kind donations.
