Mobile County Soccer Complex Fase I Gran Inauguración
MOBILE, Ala. – El jueves 23 de julio de 2020, la gran inauguración de la Fase I del complejo de fútbol del Condado de Mobile fue aclamada como un hito importante por los entusiastas del fútbol y los deportes en todo el condado.
“El nuevo Complejo de Fútbol del Condado de Mobile es literalmente lo más grande e impactante que le ha pasado al fútbol en Mobile. Será un complejo de primera clase que facilitará el crecimiento del fútbol tanto a nivel local como regional. Traerá torneos de fútbol que darán competencia a los clubes locales y traerán equipos de todo el sureste, beneficiando a Mobile tanto en talento como financieramente,” dijo Wayne Etheridge, presidente de Mobile United Futbol Club, la organización de clubes de fútbol más grande del Condado de Mobile.
Despues de la ceremonia, más de 200 jugadores de fútbol juveniles y de secundaria participaron en juegos de exhibición. Cincuenta estudiantes de último año de secundaria de la Clase de 2020 también recibieron un reconocimiento especial y monedas de desafío del Condado para conmemorar su participación.
La Fase I del Complejo, ubicada en 3701 Hall’s Mill Road, fue completada por John G. Walton Construction Company. En la fase inicial se incluyen tres campos iluminados y con césped, dos campos de práctica sembrados, líneas de agua y alcantarillado, drenaje, riego, construcción de carreteras interiores, un estacionamiento pavimentado permeable, grandes instalaciones de baños portátiles, cercas y paisajismo. La Fase I también incluye la instalación de estructuras de sombra para jugadores financiados en parte por subvenciones de fundaciones locales, Schmidt and Barton Family Fund, J.L. Bedsole Foundation y de Crampton Trust. Los fondos para la construcción del proyecto se asignaron del Distrito 2 del Condado de Mobile y el U.S. Soccer Foundation.
El diseño de la Fase II está actualmente en marcha e incluye tres estacionamientos pavimentados permeables adicionales, planeando un cuarto campo iluminado y cubierto de césped, y un campo de campeonato con césped artificial y asientos para espectadores. El cronograma de construcción depende de la disponibilidad de fondos.
Cuando se complete, el Complejo contará con un total de 10 campos iluminados con calidad de torneo, que incluyen el Campo de Campeonato, un Campo de Campeonato/Premios, cuatro estacionamientos, edificios de concesiones y baños e instalaciones de juegos infantiles/área de juegos.

Mobile County Soccer Complex Phase I Grand Opening
MOBILE, Ala. – The Thursday, July 23, 2020 Phase I Grand Opening of Mobile County’s long anticipated Soccer Complex was hailed as a major milestone by soccer and sports enthusiasts throughout the County.
“The new Mobile County Soccer Complex is literally the biggest, most impactful thing to ever happen to soccer in Mobile. It is going to be a first class complex that will facilitate the growth of soccer both locally and regionally. It will bring in soccer tournaments that will give local clubs competition and bring in teams from throughout the southeast, benefiting Mobile both in talent and financially,” said Wayne Etheridge, President of Mobile United Futbol Club, Mobile County’s largest club soccer organization.
After the ceremony, more than 200 youth and high school soccer players participated in exhibition games. Fifty high school seniors from the Class of 2020 also received special recognition and challenge coins from the County to commemorate their participation.
Phase I of the Complex, located at 3701 Hall’s Mill Road, was completed by John G. Walton Construction Company. Included in the initial phase are three lighted and sodded fields, two seeded practice fields, water and sewer lines, drainage, irrigation, interior road construction, a permeable paved parking lot, large portable restroom facilities, fencing and landscaping. Phase I also includes the installation of shade structures for players funded in part by grants from local foundations, the Schmidt and Barton Family Fund, the J.L. Bedsole Foundation, and the Crampton Trust. Funding for project construction was allocated from Mobile County District 2 and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
Phase II design is currently underway and includes three additional permeable paved parking lots, planning for a fourth lighted and sodded field, and a championship field with artificial turf and spectator seating. The construction timeline is contingent on availability of funding.
When completed, the Complex will feature a total of 10 tournament quality lighted fields including the Championship Field, a Championship/Awards Arena, four parking lots, concession and restroom buildings, and playground/splash pad facilities.
“It has been a long and challenging journey over the past eight years to get where we are today,” said Commissioner Connie Hudson, who has championed the complex project since 2012, “but worth every minute of it just to see the first phase of this beautiful new complex now come to life!”
