Incendio en Merlin Terrace deja una persona muerta
PENSACOLA, Fla. – El Departamento de Bomberos y Servicios Médicos de Emergencia del Condado de Escambia respondió a un incendio en una vivienda en la cuadra 800 de Merlin Terrace el miércoles 25 de febrero, que trágicamente resultó en la muerte de una persona.
Aproximadamente a las 8:20 p. m., el Departamento de Comunicaciones de Emergencia del Condado de Escambia recibió una llamada sobre un incendio en una vivienda con una persona atrapada en su interior. El Departamento de Bomberos y Servicios Médicos de Emergencia fue despachado rápidamente, y al llegar, el Departamento de Bomberos y Servicios Médicos de Emergencia encontró una casa de una sola planta envuelta en llamas y humo.
Los bomberos ingresaron inmediatamente a la vivienda para buscar a la víctima atrapada y hacer todo lo posible por rescatarla. Mientras realizaban la búsqueda, el techo se derrumbó, lo que dificultó aún más las operaciones de búsqueda y rescate.
Tras una búsqueda exhaustiva, se localizó a una víctima fallecida dentro del garaje. Ante la persistencia del incendio, la víctima fue retirada de la vivienda mientras los bomberos continuaban extinguiéndolo. Ningún bombero resultó herido en el incendio.
Los bomberos controlaron la situación a las 22:06. Debido a los importantes daños, la casa se considera pérdida total. La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Escambia brindó asistencia durante la respuesta. La Oficina de Incendios, Incendios Premeditados y Explosivos de Florida está investigando la causa del incendio.
House Fire on Merlin Terrace Results in Fatality
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Escambia County Fire Rescue and EMS responded to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Merlin Terrace Wednesday, Feb. 25, which tragically resulted in the death of one individual.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., Escambia County Emergency Communications received a call about a residential structure fire with one person trapped inside. ECFR and EMS were quickly dispatched, with ECFR arriving to find a single-story house engulfed in heavy flames and smoke.
Firefighters immediately entered the home to search for the trapped victim and make every effort to rescue them. While conducting a search of the house, the roof collapsed, leading to increased difficulty while conducting search-and-rescue operations.
Following a thorough search of the home, one victim was located deceased inside of the garage. With heavy fire conditions still present, the victim was removed from the home while firefighters continued to extinguish the fire. No firefighters were injured in the fire.
Firefighters brought the situation under control by 10:06 p.m. Due to the significant damage, the house is a total loss. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance during the response. The Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives is investigating the cause of the fire.
