Héroes estudiantiles inspiradores reconocidos en los condados de Okaloosa y Escambia

NOROESTE Fla. – Cox Communications organizó los premios anuales Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards en los condados de Okaloosa y Escambia esta semana. Entre los dos condados, Cox reconoció a 87 estudiantes que han superado dificultades extremas en sus vidas.

El evento del condado de Okaloosa se llevó a cabo el martes 7 de mayo en Northwest Florida State College en Niceville. Cox reconoció a 35 estudiantes del condado de Okaloosa que fueron seleccionados como el héroe de sus escuelas.

Los 52 héroes estudiantiles inspirados en Cox del condado de Escambia fueron reconocidos en una ceremonia el miércoles 8 de mayo en la University of West Florida.

“Estos estudiantes han superado tanto en sus vidas jóvenes mientras mantienen actitudes positivas y son una alegría para quienes los rodean”, dijo el vicepresidente de Gulf Coast Market, David Deliman. “Se merecen su tiempo en el centro de atención por ser una inspiración para todos nosotros.”

Los estudiantes fueron elegidos por un comité de líderes en su escuela, debido a su resistencia frente a la adversidad. Ya sea que hayan superado la pérdida de un miembro de la familia, un problema médico, una situación familiar difícil u otras dificultades, lo hicieron con una sonrisa en la cara y continuaron animando e inspirando a los demás a su alrededor.

Durante el evento, Cox presentó a los estudiantes un medallón grabado personalizado y certificados de honor. Los estudiantes también recibieron certificados de logros del congresista Matt Gaetz y del senador estatal Doug Broxson. Los héroes del condado de Okaloosa también recibieron un certificado del Representante Estatal Mel Ponder.

El programa Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards comenzó hace 26 años en New Orleans, Louisiana. El programa se ha extendido a otros mercados de Cox en la región sureste. Hasta la fecha, Cox ha reconocido a casi 4,000 estudiantes de Lafayette, Louisiana, a Gainesville, Florida.

Inspirational student heroes recognized in Okaloosa and Escambia Counties

NORTHWEST Fla. – Cox Communications hosted the annual Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards in both Okaloosa and Escambia Counties this week. Combined, Cox recognized 87 students who have overcome extreme hardships in their lives.

The Okaloosa County event was held on Tuesday, May 7 at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.  Cox recognized 35 students from Okaloosa County who were selected as their school’s hero.

Escambia County’s 52 Cox Inspirational Student Heroes were recognized at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 8 at the University of West Florida.

“These students have overcome so much in their young lives while maintaining positive attitudes and being a joy for those around them,” said Gulf Coast Market vice president David Deliman.  “They deserve their time in the spotlight for being such an inspiration to us all.”

The students were chosen by a committee of leaders at their school, due to their resilience in the face of adversity.  Whether they have overcome a loss of a family member, medical issue, difficult family situation or other hardship, they did so with a smile on their face and continued to encourage and inspire others around them.

During the event, Cox presented the students with a personalized engraved medallion and certificates of honor.  The students were also presented with certificates of achievement from Congressman Matt Gaetz and State Senator Doug Broxson.  Okaloosa County heroes also received a certificate from State Representative Mel Ponder.
