Estudiantes honran a hispanoamericanos influyentes

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Los estudiantes de la Escuela Primaria Scenic Heights están celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Los estudiantes de ESOL (inglés para hablantes de otros idiomas) de cuarto grado de la Sra. Brault crearon un collage de hispanoamericanos famosos. Con la ayuda de la asistente de Brault, la Sra. Sánchez, los estudiantes ensamblaron sus dibujos junto con citas inspiradoras de Selena Quintanilla, Cesar Chavez, Juan Herrera, Roberto Clemente, Sonia Sotomayor, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo y Ellen Ochoa respectivamente.

El Mes de la Herencia Hispana se celebra en los Estados Unidos del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre. A los estudiantes de ESOL se les presenta la herencia hispana para ampliar el alcance de la influencia hispana a su alrededor y ayudar a inspirar orgullo en sí mismos, ya que muchos de los estudiantes son hispanos.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The students at Scenic Heights Elementary School are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Mrs. Brault’s fourth grade ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) students created a collage of famous Hispanic Americans. With the help of Brault’s assistant Mrs. Sanchez, the students assembled their drawings along with inspiring quotes by Selena Quintanilla, Cesar Chavez, Juan Herrera, Roberto Clemente, Sonia Sotomayor, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Ellen Ochoa respectively.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15. The ESOL students are introduced to Hispanic heritage to broaden their scope of Hispanic influence around them, and to help inspire pride in themselves as many of the students are Hispanic.
