Mobile dará inicio a la temporada navideña con el encendido del árbol el 21 de noviembre
MOBILE, Ala. — El alcalde electo Spiro Cheriogotis y la ciudad de Mobile invitan a los habitantes de Mobile a celebrar la llegada de la Navidad con el encendido del árbol de 2025, el viernes 21 de noviembre, en Mardi Gras Park.
El encendido anual del árbol se ha convertido en una tradición que da inicio a la temporada navideña en la ciudad portuaria y es el primero de varios eventos festivos organizados por el Departamento de Eventos de la Ciudad de Mobile. La celebración de este año tendrá lugar de 5:30 p.m. a 8:30 p.m. el viernes 21 de noviembre en Mardi Gras Park.
Este evento comunitario gratuito contará con música y bailes en vivo, así como vendedores locales, camiones de comida, artesanías navideñas, juegos, inflables, oportunidades para tomar fotos y la visita de Santa Claus. Es una excelente manera de celebrar la Navidad con amigos, familiares y vecinos.
“El Encendido del Árbol se ha convertido en una de las tradiciones más queridas de Mobile, y me emociona y agradezco poder dirigirlo por primera vez este año,” dijo el alcalde electo Cheriogotis. “La Navidad es una época de alegría, gratitud y unión, y de eso se trata precisamente este evento. ¡Los esperamos!”
Las festividades de este año comenzarán a las 5:30 p. m. con presentaciones del Coro Comunitario del Departamento de Parques y Recreación de Mobile (MPRD) y la Compañía y Estudio de Ballet Danze 101. Santa Claus llegará a las 6:00 p. m., y el alcalde Cheriogotis encenderá el árbol a las 6:20 p. m. El evento principal será una presentación navideña del grupo a capella Vocalocity de 7 p. m. a 8:30 p. m.

Mobile to kick off Christmas season with Tree Lighting on Nov. 21
MOBILE, Ala. — Mayor-elect Spiro Cheriogotis and the City of Mobile invite Mobilians to ring in the Christmas season at the 2025 “Lighting of the Tree” event on Friday, Nov. 21, in Mardi Gras Park.
The annual Lighting of the Tree has become an unofficial kickoff for the holiday season in the Port City and is the first of several festive events hosted by the City of Mobile Events Department. This year’s celebration will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, in Mardi Gras Park.
A free community event, the tree lighting will feature live musical and dance performances, as well as local vendors, food trucks, holiday crafts, games, inflatables, photo opportunities, and a visit from Santa Claus. It’s a great way to celebrate the holiday season with friends, family, and neighbors.
“The Lighting of the Tree has become one of Mobile’s most beloved traditions, and I am excited and grateful to be leading it for the first time this year,” Mayor-elect Cheriogotis said. “Christmas is a season of joy, gratitude, and togetherness, and that is exactly what this event is about. See you there!”
This year’s festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with performances by the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD) Community Mass Choir and the Danze 101 Academy of Ballet Studio and Company. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m., and Mayor Cheriogotis will light the tree at 6:20 p.m. The main event will be a holiday performance by the a cappella group Vocalocity from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
