Latino Festival 2017: 5 de noviembre
PENSACOLA, Fla.—El periódico La Costa Latina presenta el Festival Latino 2017 en Pensacola en las calles Belmont y DeVilliers (GPS: 500 W. Belmont, Pensacola, FL 32501) el domingo 5 de noviembre a partir de las 12 p.m. hasta las 8 p.m. La música, la comida, el baile y las actividades festivas, una vez más emanarán del festival anual para celebrar la cultura y las tradiciones latinas de todo el mundo. La entrada es gratis.
La mejor comida latina al este del Rio Mississippi estará a la venta. No te pierdas los tacos, empanadas, tostones, pupusas, aguas frescas y otras bebidas, incluida la cerveza. Se pide a los visitantes que apoyen a los vendedores al no llevar comida y bebida innecesaria al festival. Traiga sus sillas de jardín, pero no espere quedarse sentado. Movimientos de baile de mucha energía y festividades exuberantes siempre siguen a la instructora de Zumba, Vanessa Mills y Krewe de Karnaval. Ambos liderarán la fiesta latina más animada que jamás haya visto la Costa del Golfo. DJ Pablo Solis, DJ Snoopy y DJ Roel mantendrán a Belmont y DeVilliers vibrando con ritmos latinos durante todo el día.
Aparte de la vibrante música, David Gonzalez y Ashely Ruiz de WEAR-TV’s darán la bienvenida a los asistentes e involucrarán a la multitud en actividades divertidas desde el escenario. También es nuevo en el escenario una presentación inspiradora por la Kappa Delta Chi de la University of West Florida, la primera hermandad con base latina de la universidad. Por supuesto, habrá actividades y golosinas para los niños también.
¡No se pierda de los invitados especiales del Circo Loomis Bros.! El Payaso Melvino encantará a los niños y alentará a los participantes a competir para ganar boletos para los shows en Robertsdale (lunes, el 6 de nov.) y Crestview (9 de nov. a 12).
La lista musical anticipada incluye algunos de los favoritos anuales y nuevo espectáculo de reggaetón de Jay El Rebelde y la presentación, de un artista puertorriqueño local de R&B, Prestijus.
El programa también incluye un homenaje a Puerto Rico con una canción “Puerto Rico Se Levanta” escrita e interpretada por el artista local Rickyto para alentar a la recuperación de la isla del daño causado por el huracán María. Los suministros de socorro para Puerto Rico también se recaudarán en el festival patrocinado por el camión de comida Joe’s Caribe, que estará en el lugar.
Otras actuaciones incluyen Zona Libre, una banda de Mississippi que presenta una mezcla de géneros que incluyen banda, punta, salsa, merengue y más. El grupo cumbia La Sonora Dinamita regresa al Festival Latino para la gran final. Muchos fanáticos se perdieron su aparición en el festival anterior debido a la lluvia de esa tarde que demoró su espectáculo.
Una presentación de un nuevo cortometraje para y sobre la comunidad latina de la Costa del Golfo titulada “Somos Latinos de la Costa” por el periódico La Costa Latina debutará en una pantalla grande justo al anochecer. El video es una compilación de miembros de la comunidad de la Costa del Golfo en el noroeste de la Florida y el sur de Alabama, que ha crecido considerablemente desde el 2004. Más de 100 miembros de la comunidad latina contribuyeron material para mostrar la gran variedad de contribuciones de latinos de la Costa del Golfo hace en nuestra comunidad y en el mundo.

Belmont, Pensacola, FL 32501) on Sunday November 5 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Festive music, food, dancing and activities will once again emanate from the annual festival to celebrate Latino culture and traditions from around the globe. Admission is free.
The best Latino food east of the Mississippi will be on sale. Don’t miss out on the tacos, empanadas, tostones, pupusas, aguas frescas and other drinks including beer. Visitors are asked to support the vendors by not bringing unnecessary food and drink products to the festival. Bring your lawn chairs, but don’t expect to stay seated. High energy dance moves and exuberant festivities always follow Zumba instructor, Vanessa Mills and Krewe de Karnaval. Both will be leading the liveliest Latino party the Gulf Coast has ever seen. DJ Pablo Solis, DJ Snoopy and DJ Roel will keep the Belmont and DeVilliers vibrating with Latin rhythms throughout the day.
Aside from the vibrant music, WEAR-TV’s David Gonzalez and Ashely Ruiz will welcome attendees and engage the crowd in fun activities from the stage. Also new to the stage is an inspiring presentation by the University of West Florida’s Kappa Delta Chi, the university’s first Latina-based sorority. Of course, there will be activities and treats for the kids, too.
Don’t miss very special guests from the Loomis Bros. Circus! Melvino the Clown will charm the kids and encourage participants to compete to win tickets for Robertsdale (Monday, Nov. 6) and Crestview (Nov. 9 -12) shows.
The anticipated musical lineup includes some annual favorites and fresh new entertainment with a reggaetón show by Jay El Rebelde and introducing, local Puerto Rican R&B artist, Prestijus.
The program also includes a tribute to Puerto Rico with a song “Puerto Rico Se Levanta” written and performed by local artist Rickyto to encourage the rebounding of the island from the damaged caused by Hurricane Maria. Relief supplies for Puerto Rico will also be collected at the festival sponsored by Joe’s Caribe food truck which will be onsite.
Other performances include Zona Libre, a Mississippi band that features a mix of genres including banda, punta, salsa, merengue and more. The cumbia group La Sonora Dinamita returns to the Latino Festival for the grand finale. Many fans missed their previous festival appearance due to an afternoon rain that delayed their show.
A presentation of a new short film for and about the Gulf Coast Latino community entitled “Somos Latinos de la Costa” (“We are Latinos of the Coast”) by La Costa Latina Newspaper will debut on a big screen just at dusk. The video is a compilation of members of the Gulf Coast community in Northwest Florida and South Alabama which has grown considerably since 2004. More than 100 members of the local Latino community contributed material for this video to display the vast variety of contributions Latinos from the Gulf Coast make in our community and the world.
