Habitat for Humanity de Pensacola dedicará nuevo hogar
Pensacola, FL – El sábado 20 de julio, a pesar de la lluvia, Pensacola Habitat contó con 35 grupos de voluntarios de la comunidad para ayudar a decorar y presentar el hogar de Clemson Road a Kristin Allen.
“Los voluntarios pusieron su sangre, sudor y lágrimas en esta casa y no iban a dejar que la lluvia los detuviera,” dijo Aaron Rogers, miembro de AmeriCorps en Pensacola Habitat. “Fue genial ver a la comunidad unirse a pesar del mal tiempo, ver la alegría de Kristin y sus hijos hizo que valiera la pena.”
El Grupo de la Iglesia Católica de St. Ann estuvo allí, incluido Mons. Luke Hunt que bendice el hogar, así como un equipo de voluntarios para ayudar con el paisajismo. Se encuentran entre las primeras comunidades de fe en unirse a la misión de Habitat para construir hogares, comunidades y esperan ayudar a cumplir este objetivo durante décadas financieramente, así como con el apoyo de voluntarios.
Miembro de la Iglesia de St. Ann, Bev Ishol, ha coordinado las construcciones de Pensacola Habitat durante los últimos 20 años.
“Trabajar junto a Pensacola Habitat para ayudar a las familias ha sido realmente inspirador, mi parte favorita es en la dedicación en el hogar, viendo que el trabajo duro y la dedicación de la familia dan sus frutos,” dijo Ishol.
La iglesia ha ayudado a nuestra comunidad de muchas maneras: han brindado apoyo donde pueden y están dedicados a terminar el trabajo. Ayudaron a construir la casa en Clemson Road y regresaron para mostrar su apoyo al comprador al brindar más asistencia.
La compradora de viviendas Kristin Allen recibió tres regalos para bautizar su hogar; un martillo, una colcha y una biblia.
Los compradores de vivienda asisten a cursos de preparación para propietarios de viviendas que los capacitan y les ayudan a aprender las habilidades necesarias para una exitosa adquisición de viviendas, como mantenimiento, presupuesto y reparación de viviendas. Los propietarios van más allá invirtiendo su “capital de sudor” en la construcción física de sus propias casas y contribuyendo a la construcción de los demás.
Pensacola Habitat for Humanity dedicate new home
Pensacola, FL – On Saturday July 20, despite the rain, Pensacola Habitat had 35 volunteers’ band together from the community to help landscape and present the Clemson Road home to Kristin Allen.
“The volunteers put their blood, sweat, and tears into this home and weren’t going to let the rain stop them,” Aaron Rogers, AmeriCorps member at Pensacola Habitat, said. “It was great to see the community come together despite the bad weather, seeing the joy of Kristin and her kids made it entirely worth it.”
The Group from St. Ann’s Catholic Church was there including Msgr. Luke Hunt who bless the home, as well as a team of volunteers to help with the landscaping. They are among the first faith communities to join Habitats mission to build homes, communities and hope helping fulfill this goal for decades financially as well as with the support of volunteers.

“Working alongside Pensacola Habitat to help families has been truly inspiring, my favorite part is at the home dedication seeing the family’s hard work and dedication pay off,” Ishol said.
The church has helped our community in many ways: they have given support where they can and are dedicated to finishing the job. They helped build the home on Clemson Road and returned to show their support for the homebuyer by providing more assistance.
The homebuyer Kristin Allen was presented with three gifts to christen her home; A hammer, quilt and a bible.
The homebuyers attend homeowner readiness courses that empower and help them learn the skills necessary for successful homeownership such as home maintenance, budgeting, and repair. The homeowners go further by investing their “sweat equity” into physically building their own homes—and contributing toward the construction of others’.
