“Get On Your Feet!” (“¡Ponte de pies!”) La historia de Emilio y Gloria Estefan llega a Pensacola
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Representado por Columbia Artists Theatricals a través de una licencia especial de Theatrical Rights Worldwide y bajo la dirección general de Evan Bernardin Productions, el Saenger Theatre presentará una nueva producción del exitoso musical On Your Feet. La historia de Emilio y Gloria Estefan. Esta inspiradora historia real sobre el corazón, la herencia y dos personas que creían en su talento, y en los demás, ya se ha ganado los corazones de la audiencia y los críticos por igual. ¡Get on your feet! (Ponte de Pies) se presentará en el Teatro Saenger desde el martes 7 de marzo hasta el miércoles 8 de marzo de 2023.
Esta nueva y emocionante producción está dirigida y coreografiada por Luis Salgado, quien actuó en la producción original de Broadway de On Your Feet! Salgado fue asistente de coreografía latina de In the Heights en Broadway, que ganó cuatro premios Tony®. En mayo del 2022, Salgado dirigió y coreografió el estreno mundial de On Your Feet! en español en GALA Hispanic Theatre en Washington D.C., cuya producción The Washington Post elogió como “bulliciosa. . . y de ensueño.”
Salgado dijo: “Esta historia ejemplifica el Sueño Americano a través de los ojos y la ética de trabajo de los inmigrantes cubanos. Los Estefan nos han dado permiso para atrevernos a soñar en grande. “On Your Feet!” The story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan comes to Pensacola
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Represented by Columbia Artists Theatricals through a special license from Theatrical Rights Worldwide and General Managed by Evan Bernardin Productions, The Saenger Theatre will present a brand new production of the smash-hit musical On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan. This inspiring true story about heart, heritage and two people who believed in their talent—and each other—has already won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. On Your Feet! will play the Saenger Theatre from Tuesday, March 7 through Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
This exciting new production is directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, who performed in the original Broadway production of On Your Feet! and was the Assistant Latin Choreographer of In the Heights on Broadway, which won four Tony Awards®. In May 2022, Salgado directed and choreographed the world premiere of On Your Feet! in Spanish at GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington D.C. which The Washington Post praised production as “boisterous . . . and dreamlike.”
Salgado said, “This story exemplifies the American Dream through the eyes and work ethic of Cuban immigrants. The Estefans have given us permission to dare to dream bigger. They allowed their truth to resonate through their music, penetrating all of us, whether you’re Latino or not. This joy is a gift we want to give to our audiences.”
“We are passionate about opening the door of representation on this tour and nurturing a diverse family both backstage and on stage, with creative team members who are joining us from around the world,” he added. Several creative team members from the Washington D.C. production will join the national tour.
The On Your Feet! score is made up of some of the most loved and iconic songs of the past quarter-century including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Get On Your Feet,” “Don’t Want To Lose You Now,” “1-2-3” and “Coming Out of the Dark.”
