Dos soldados asesinados en Afganistán

El pasado ocho de febrero el Departamento de Defensa de los Estados Unidos confirmó la muerte de dos soldados en la provincia de Nangarhar, Afganistán. Sgt. 1st Class Javier Jaguar Gutierrez, de 28 años y el Sgt. 1st Class Antonio Rey Rodriguez de 28 años quienes eran miembros del Grupo Séptimo de Fuerzas Especiales en el Eglin Airforce Base.

En un comunicado, el ejército de Estados Unidos dio a conocer que “un individuo con uniforme afgano abrió fuego contra la fuerza combinada estadounidense y afgana con una ametralladora”. Así mismo expresaron que aun se encuentran recopilando información y la causa o motivo detrás del ataque se desconoce hasta el momento.

En su sitio web, Sen. Marco Rubio (FL-R) dijo, “Trágicas noticias de que heroicos patriotas del Séptimo Grupo de Fuerzas Especiales del Ejército con sede en Crestview, FL, perdieron la vida en Afganistán en lo que parece ser un ataque interno a una base afgana. Todos estamos desconsolados por sus familias, amigos y seres queridos.”

Sgt. 1st Class Javier Jaguar Gutierrez de San Antonio, Texas deja tras su muerte a cuatro hijos pequeños y a su esposa Gabriela Gutierrez. Se ha establecido una cuenta GoFundMe para ayudar a la familia.

Sgt. 1st Class Antonio Rey Rodriguez nacido en Las Cruces, Nuevo México es recordado por sus seres queridos como un esposo, hijo y hermano maravilloso. También se ha establecido una campaña GoFundMe para esta familia.

Los cuerpos de los soldados fueron recibidos el lunes 10 de febrero en Dover, Delaware. El presidente Donald Trump y el vicepresidente Mike Pence junto con el personal militar y los funcionarios hicieron los honores.

Seis miembros del servicio militar estadounidense han sido asesinados en Afganistán en el 2020.

two soldiers in uniformOn February 8, the United States Department of Defense confirmed the deaths of two soldiers in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. Sgt. 1st Class Javier Jaguar Gutierrez, 28, and Sgt. 1st Class Antonio Rey Rodriguez, 28, who were members of the 7th Special Forces Group of Eglin Air Force Base.

In a statement, the US Army announced that “an individual in an Afghan uniform opened fire on the combined US and Afghan force with a machine gun.” The Army also said that they are still collecting information and the cause or motive behind the attack is unknown at this time.

On his website, Sen. Marco Rubio (FL-R) said, “Tragic news that heroic patriots of the Seventh Army Special Forces Group based in Crestview, FL, lost their lives in Afghanistan in what appears to be an internal attack on an Afghan base. We are all heartbroken for their families, friends and loved ones.”

Sgt. 1st Class Javier Jaguar Gutierrez, of San Antonio, Texas, leaves behind four young children and his wife Gabriela Gutierrez. A GoFundMe account has been established to aid the family.

Sgt. 1st Class Antonio Rey Rodriguez, born in Las Cruces, New Mexico is remembered by his loved ones as amazing husband, son and brother. A GoFundMe campaign has also been established for this family.

The bodies of the soldiers were received on Monday, February 10 in Dover, Delaware. President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, together with military personnel and officials, presented military honors.

Six members of the US military service have been killed in Afghanistan in the 2020.
