Road Construction on Gulf Beach Hwy and Cervantes St. PENSACOLA, Fla.—A safety improvement project to construct a sidewalk along portions of Gulf Beach Hwy. from Fairfield Dr. to Decatur Ave and install lighting at the intersection of Cervantes St. at N. E Street in Escambia County is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, August 7. Work on the project will take approximately three months to complete. Motorists can expect intermittent lance restrictions, however, there will be no lane closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Gulf Beach Hwy and from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Cervantes St. Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through work zones.
