El Festival de Cinco de Mayo trae auténtica celebración mexicana a Pensacola y Destin
PENSACOLA & DESTIN, Fla.—Este fin de semana del Cinco de Mayo, la Costa del Golfo tendrá la rara oportunidad de experimentar un tributo a dos de las artistas musicales mexicoamericanas más queridas, Selena y Jenni Rivera en el mismo escenario.
Las festividades comienzan el sábado, 5 de mayo en la Plaza de Luna ubicada en el extremo sur de Palafox St. La celebración continúa el domingo 6 de mayo en Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village ubicado en 4323 Commons Dr. West en Destin. Las puertas se abren a las 2 p.m. ambos días, y la admisión es de $10 a partir de las 3 p.m.
Aixa Fernández presenta una conmovedora personificación de la superestrella de la música tejana, Selena Quintanilla. Simona Beltrán también ilumina el escenario y los corazones para los fanáticos de la banda y la ranchera Jenni Rivera. Tanto Quintanilla como Rivera fueron tomadas trágicamente en el mejor momento de sus vidas y carrera musical, pero sus millones de admiradores se aseguran de que sus leyendas sigan vigentes.
Llevamos al hermano de Selena, AB Quintanilla, y su banda Kumbia King All-Stars para encabezar nuestro Festival Latino 2012 en Community Maritime Park,” dijo Grace Resendez McCaffery, propietaria de Latino Media y fundadora del Centro de Recursos Hispanos de Northwest Florida. “Es uno de nuestros shows más memorables que hemos tenido hasta hoy.”
El entretenimiento del festival también incluye música de Los Nuevos Alegres de la Sierra, En Amid Montelongo, Shelah Venegas, Jay el Revelde y Karina y la presentación de AJ Stylez. La danza folclórica tradicional y las actuaciones de mariachi también serán parte de las festividades. El escenario está dirigido por Triple M Entertainment, DJ Pablo, DJ Roel, DJ Snoopy y Paco, todos los que se especializan en música mexicana y latina.
Una variedad de auténtica comida mexicana, bebidas, margaritas y cerveza también estarán disponibles hasta que el festival termine a las 9 p.m. cada noche

Cinco de Mayo Festival brings authentic Mexican celebration to Pensacola and Destin
PENSACOLA & DESTIN, Fla. – This Cinco de Mayo weekend, the Gulf Coast will have the rare opportunity to experience a tribute to two of the most beloved Mexican-American musical artist, Selena and Jenni Rivera on the same stage.
The festivities start Saturday, May 5 at Plaza de Luna located at the southernmost end of Palafox St. The celebration continues on Sunday, May 6 at Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village located at 4323 Commons Dr. West in Destin. Gates open at 2 p.m. both days, and admission is $10 starting at 3 p.m.
Aixa Fernandez’s presents a heartwarming impersonation of Tejano music superstar, Selena Quintanilla. Simona Beltran also lights up the stage and hearts for fans of the banda and ranchera musician Jenni Rivera. Both Quintanilla and Rivera were tragically taken in the prime of their lives and musical careers, but their millions of adoring fans assure that their legends live on.
We brought Selena’s brother, AB Quintanilla, and his band the Kumbia King All-Stars to headline our 2012 Latino Festival at the Community Maritime Park,” said Grace Resendez McCaffery, owner of Latino Media and founder of the Hispanic Resource Center of Northwest Florida. “It is one of our most memorable shows we’ve had to date.”
Festival entertainment also includes music by Los Nuevos Alegres de la Sierra, Amid Montelongo, Shelah Venegas, Jay el Revelde and Karina and introducing AJ Stylez. Traditional folkloric dance and mariachi performances will also be part of the festivities. The stage is managed by Triple M Entertainment, DJ Pablo, DJ Roel, DJ Snoopy and Paco, all who specialize in Mexican and Latino music.
A variety of authentic Mexican food, drinks, margaritas and beer will also be available till the festival ends at 9 p.m. each night
