Ceremonia de corte de cinta para Choctawhatchee River Paddle Trail en Cowford Landing
CONDADO DE WALTON, FL – El condado de Walton pronto abrirá las puertas de su parque nuevo más, Choctawhatchee River Paddle Trail en Cowford Landing. El miércoles 10 de agosto a las 9 a. m. La Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Walton organizará un evento de corte de cinta en las nuevas instalaciones aproximadamente 100 yardas más allá del lanzamiento de botes de Cowford existente, ubicado en SR20 y el río Choctawhatchee en 55 Big Cedar Road, Ponce de León, FL 32455
La nueva instalación incluye dos pabellones con mosquitero para acampar durante la noche, un baño, mesas y bancos de picnic, soportes para canoas/kayaks, embarcadero para canoas/kayaks accesible para discapacitados y paseo marítimo asociado y estacionamiento. La construcción fue financiada por el Fondo de Conservación de Tierras y Aguas a través del Departamento del Interior de EE. UU., el Servicio de Parques Nacionales, el Departamento de Protección Ambiental de Florida y el Fondo de Preservación del Condado de Walton.
Ribbon cutting ceremony for Choctawhatchee River Paddle Trail at Cowford Landing
WALTON COUNTY, FL – Walton County will soon open doors at its newest park facility, Choctawhatchee River Paddle Trail at Cowford Landing. On Wednesday, August 10 at 9 a.m., the Walton County Board of County Commissioners will host a ribbon cutting event at the new facility, approximately 100 yards past the existing Cowford Boat Launch, located at SR20 and the Choctawhatchee River at 55 Big Cedar Road, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455.
The new facility includes two screened-in pavilions for overnight camping, a restroom facility, picnic tables and benches, canoe/kayak racks, handicap accessible canoe/kayak launch and associated boardwalk, and parking facility. The construction of the site was funded by the Land and Water Conservation Fund through the US Department of Interior, the National Park Service, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the Walton County Preservation Fund.
