Campaña de seguridad contra incendios finaliza con 12 bombillas rojas en el condado de Escambia
Al concluir la campaña de seguridad contra incendios “Mantén la corona verde,” el Departamento de Bomberos de Escambia colocó 12 bombillas rojas en las coronas entre el 1 y el 31 de diciembre de 2025, representando cada bombilla roja un incendio con daños en una estructura residencial o comercial.

El Departamento de Bomberos de Escambia respondió a un incendio en una casa móvil en la cuadra 5500 de N. Century Blvd. aproximadamente a las 8:49 p.m. del domingo, encontrando llamas y humo saliendo de la casa móvil. Los bomberos trabajaron rápidamente para controlar el incendio a las 9:19 p.m. Nadie resultó herido, pero la vivienda sufrió daños considerables y se considera pérdida total. La Oficina de Incendios y Arson está investigando la causa del incendio.
Se añadieron dos bombillas rojas más a la corona debido a incendios en viviendas, lo que eleva el total a 11 bombillas rojas.

La dotación del camión de bomberos número 7 logró extinguir rápidamente el fuego con un extintor de agua portátil, evitando mayores daños a la vivienda y a la unidad adyacente. La vivienda requerirá reparaciones menores antes de poder ser reocupada. El Departamento de Bomberos de Escambia determinó que un incidente accidental relacionado con la cocina causó el incendio.
Poco después del incendio en Beal Street, el Departamento de Bomberos de Escambia fue enviado a otro incendio en un edificio de apartamentos relacionado con la cocina a las 10:39 p.m. en la cuadra 3200 de East Olive Road. Los bomberos llegaron a un complejo de apartamentos de dos pisos sin llamas ni humo visibles. Fire safety campaign ends with 12 red bulbs in Escambia County
At the conclusion of “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety campaign, Escambia County Fire Rescue placed 12 red bulbs on the wreaths between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2025, with each red bulb representing a residential or commercial structure fire with damage.
The ninth red bulb has been added to the wreath by Escambia County Fire Rescue during “Keep the Wreath Green” following a residential structure fire Sunday, Dec. 28.
Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to a mobile home fire in the 5500 block of N. Century Blvd. at approximately 8:49 p.m. Sunday, arriving on scene to find flames and smoke coming from a mobile home. Firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control by 9:19 p.m. No one was injured in the fire, but the home sustained significant damage and is a total loss. The Bureau of Fire and Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.
Two more red bulbs were added to the wreath residential structure fires, bringing the total to 11 red bulbs.
At 9:46 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to a multi-residential structure fire in the 8300 block of Beal Street. Firefighters arrived at a single-story duplex showing flames from the front door. The crew from Engine 7 was able to quickly extinguish the fire using a hand-held water extinguisher, preventing further damage to the home and adjacent unit. The home will require minor repairs before being reoccupied. ECFR determined that an accidental cooking-related incident caused the fire.
Shortly after the Beal Street fire, ECFR was dispatched to another cooking-related multi-residential structure fire at 10:39 p.m. in the 3200 block of East Olive Road. Firefighters arrived at a two-story apartment complex with no visible flames or smoke present. After arriving at the impacted unit, firefighters discovered damage from a kitchen fire that was extinguished by the occupant using a fire extinguisher. ECFR confirmed there were no additional flames and used fans to ventilate the smoke out of the unit. There were no injuries, but the occupant was displaced due to the damage.
ECFR added the twelfth and final red bulb to the wreath following a structure fire Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 4:34 a.m. in the 10000 block of Chemstrand Road. Firefighters arrived at a single-story wood-framed residence showing heavy flames and smoke. The fire was aggressively attacked and brought under control by 5:12 a.m. One patient was treated and transported to an area hospital by Escambia County EMS. The structure is a total loss due to the significant damage, and the fire was determined to have been caused by a space heater.
