Belén Viviente 2025
FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida – La 37.ª edición del Belén Viviente de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Fort Walton Beach se presenta del lunes 15 al domingo 21 de diciembre. Este Belén Viviente es un regalo gratuito de la iglesia para la ciudad y las comunidades vecinas. Si bien el enfoque principal es el nacimiento de Jesús, la iglesia también representa la historia completa de la salvación, incluyendo el nacimiento milagroso, la crucifixión y la resurrección.
El Belén Viviente estará abierto de 18:00 a 20:30 durante 7 noches. Se encuentra junto al santuario de la Primera Iglesia Bautista, en la esquina de la 2.ª Calle y la Calle Church. Hay amplio estacionamiento gratuito en el aparcamiento de la iglesia, justo enfrente del Belén Viviente.
La escena del nacimiento incluye a María, José y el niño Jesús, así como a los tres Reyes Magos y los ángeles que anuncian su nacimiento. Al entrar al Belén Viviente, los visitantes se toman una foto y luego se dirigen al Campo de los Pastores. La foto se imprime al instante y se puede recoger al salir del evento.
Al entrar al Campo de los Pastores, se proporcionan bandejas de mano para alimentar a los animales sin riesgo de tocarlos. Todos los pastores tienen cubos con pienso dulce y zanahorias que ofrecen a quienes deseen alimentar a los animales.
Este año, la iglesia ofrecerá paseos en carrito de golf por el Belén Viviente para personas con discapacidad o movilidad reducida. Podrán disfrutar de todo lo que ofrece.
En el Campo de los Pastores hay ovejas, burros miniatura y dos camellos que se pueden acariciar y alimentar. Una de las camellas, Naomi, ha sido una presencia constante en el Belén Viviente durante más de una década. Por segundo año consecutivo, la acompaña su cría, Nicodemo, o Nico para abreviar. ¡Los pastores, jóvenes de secundaria, son unos voluntarios excepcionales que se aseguran continuamente de que el Campo de los Pastores sea seguro para caminar durante el Belén Viviente!
Al salir del Campo de los Pastores, los visitantes son recibidos por un guardia romano junto a la cruz y guiados hacia la Tumba Vacía, donde un ángel pregunta: “¿Por qué lo buscan aquí? ¡Ha resucitado!.” Luego pasarán por el puesto de bastones de caramelo, donde los niños recibirán uno y escucharán la maravillosa historia de su invención. A continuación, se encontrarán con la mesa del diácono, donde se distribuirán Biblias gratuitas. Después, los visitantes disfrutarán de canciones navideñas e inspiradoras interpretadas por el departamento de música de la iglesia, mientras saborean galletas y beben chocolate caliente o café junto a una de las cálidas hogueras.
El Belén Viviente es un evento gratuito y sin donaciones. Es un momento de alegría tanto para los voluntarios disfrazados como para los visitantes, ya que la comunidad de la Primera Iglesia Bautista se une para mostrar el amor de Jesús en su nacimiento.
Live Nativity 2025
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – The 37th edition of presenting the Live Nativity at First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach starts on Monday, December 15th and runs through Sunday night, December 21st. The Live Nativity is the church’s free gift to the city and the surrounding communities. While the main focus is on the birth of Jesus, the church also depicts the full salvation story; incorporating the miraculous birth, the crucifixion and the resurrection.
The Live Nativity is open from 6:00pm to 8:30pm for 7 nights. It is located next to the First Baptist Church sanctuary at the corner of 2nd Street and Church Street. There is plenty of free parking in the church’s parking lot which is just across the street from the Live Nativity.
The nativity scene includes Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus as well as the 3 Wise Men and Angels heralding his birth. Upon entering the nativity, visitors have their picture taken and then depart to the Shepherd’s Field. The nativity picture is printed immediately and is available to be picked up as they depart the event.
As guests enter the Shepherd’s Field, hand held feeding trays are provided to feed the animals and keep fingers safe! All shepherds have buckets of sweet feed and carrots which they provide to those who wish to feed the animals.
This year the church will provide golf cart rides through the Live Nativity for those who are handicapped or have walking limitations. They will enjoy all that the Live Nativity has to offer.
In the Shepherd’s Field there are sheep, miniature donkeys and two camels to pet and feed. One of the camels, Naomi, has been a fixture at the Live Nativity for well over a decade. Joining her for the second year in a row is her baby boy, Nicodemus, or Nico for short. Middle school shepherds are super-duper scoopers who continually make sure the Shepherd’s Field is safe to walk around in during the Live Nativity!
As visitors leave the Shepherd’s Field, they are greeted by a Roman Guard at the cross and directed toward the Empty Tomb where an Angel asks: “Why do you seek him here? He is Risen!” They will then pass the Candy Cane booth where the children receive a candy cane and hear the wonderful story about its invention. The Deacon’s table with free Bibles is next and then the visitors listen to seasonal, inspirational songs presented by the music department of the church as they munch on cookies and sip hot chocolate or coffee around one of the warm fire pits.
The Live Nativity is a no cost, no donation event. It is a joyous time for both the costumed volunteers and the visitors as the First Baptist Church family embraces the community and shows the Love of Jesus at His birth.
