Ayuda solicitada para la Familia Luna

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – El 1 de julio de este año la vida de una familia de inmigrantes cambió al verse envueltos en un trágico accidente en la ciudad de Fort Walton. Su carro quedó en pérdida total pero las secuelas más graves las tuvieron una pareja de esposos colombianos que fueron llevados de inmediato al centro médico de Santa Rosa y posteriormente trasladados al hospital de Fort Walton.
El joven (29) sufrió de una fractura triple en su pie izquierdo y su esposa (25) quien tiene un embarazo de alto riesgo debido a que padece de lupus, recibió todo el impacto del choque, lo que la llevó a estar casi un mes hospitalizada.
La joven ha tenido que vivir un calvario después del accidente ya que a raíz del fuerte golpe en su cabeza y columna perdió inicialmente la movilidad de sus extremidades inferiores y ha tenido poco a poco con terapia y medicamentos que su embarazo le permite recibir recuperar la fuerza de sus piernas.
Los Luna decidieron salir por voluntad propia del hospital sin estar recuperados al cien por ciento porque tienen una hija de apenas 2 años que debían cuidar. Además, la cuenta del hospital seguía acumulándose pues no tienen seguro médico y debían buscar dinero para cubrir sus gastos y poder sobrevivir.
Estos inmigrantes llegaron hace 3 años a los Estados Unidos y no cuentan con familia o amigos en este país. Las personas que los han ayudado son una pareja de colombianos que fueron testigos del fuerte accidente y quienes desde ese momento se han convertido en los ángeles guardianes de los Luna. Les crearon una cuenta de GoFundMe y han logrado tocar el corazón de la comunidad latina del área por medio de las iglesias a las que pertenecen y a sus amigos más cercanos.
Los jóvenes colombianos no cuentan con un medio de transporte para movilizarse, el esposo ha tenido que regresar a trabajar aun sin haber arreglado la fractura de su pie pues las deudas no dan espera. La joven está padeciendo graves dolores musculares y migrañas, dolor del que fuimos testigos al comunicarnos con ella para este artículo, que le impiden en ocasiones pensar, hablar o comunicarse. Esto además del golpe sicológico que ella expresa sufrir como resultado de toda la presión que ha tenido que sobrellevar en las últimas semanas.
Los Luna viven de su trabajo diario y no cuentan con ahorros suficientes para sobrellevar esta situación la cual cambió su vida repentinamente. Hoy siguen esperando tener la posibilidad de asistir a sus terapias que son muy costosas y a las citas médicas para recuperar su salud. Su mayores preocupaciones en este momento son el poder pagar la renta del lugar en donde viven, recibir el tratamiento para sus lesiones, conseguir asesoría legal para manejar el tema del accidente, pero sobretodo, traer a su bebé sano y salvo al mundo.
Los Luna expresan estar agradecidos por el apoyo que han recibido de la comunidad latina que sin buscar nada a cambio les han tendido una mano en este momento tan difícil. La respuesta a este calvario les ha demostrado la amabilidad de las personas que, sin conocerlos, han dedicado su tiempo para ayudarlos a sobrellevar este episodio de sus vidas que quieren superar.

These immigrants arrived in the United States 3 years ago and have no family or friends in this country. The people who have helped them are a Colombian couple who witnessed the bad accident and who since then have become their guardian angels. They created a GoFundMe account for them and have managed to touch the hearts of the Latino community in the area through the churches they belong to and their closest friends.
The young Colombians do not have a means of transportation to get around, the husband has had to return to work even without having fixed the fracture of his foot to pay debts. The young woman is suffering from severe muscle pain and migraines, pain that we witnessed when we communicated with her for this article, which sometimes prevent her from thinking, speaking or communicating. This in addition to the psychological blow that she expresses suffering as a result of all the pressure she has had to endure in the last few weeks.
The Lunas live from their daily work and do not have the necessary savings to cope with this situation that suddenly changed their lives. Today they are still hoping for the possibility of attending her therapies, which are very expensive, and medical appointments to recover his health. Their biggest concerns right now are being able to pay the rent for the place where they live, receive treatment for their injuries, get legal advice to deal with the accident, but above all, bring their baby safely into the world.
