Víctima que casi se ahoga se espera que se recupere
OKALOOSA ISLAND, Fla. – Gracias a los transeúntes, dos enfermeras, el Departamento de Bomberos de Okaloosa Island, EMS y el Centro Médico de Fort Walton Beach, ¡se espera que una víctima de casi 17 años de edad que se estaba ahogando se recupere por completo.
Jhian Belen, de Enterprise Alabama, estaba nadando en el agua detrás del Eglin NCO Beach Club en Okaloosa Island alrededor de las 3 p.m. el 6 de julio cuando él comenzó a forcejear. El adolescente inconsciente fue llevado a la orilla donde dos enfermeras que estaban fuera de servicio le dieron dos rondas de RCP. Dicen que Belen luego tosió el agua y comenzó a respirar por su cuenta. Lo llevaron al centro médico de Fort Walton Beach y lo listaron inicialmente en estado crítico, pero los Oficiales del Sheriff del Condado de Okaloosa dicen que se espera que Belén se recupere por completo.
Dicen que el resultado podría haber sido muy diferente si no fuera por los intensos esfuerzos de los involucrados en salvale vida.
Near drowning victim expected to recover
OKALOOSA ISLAND, Fla. – Thanks to bystanders, two nurses, the Okaloosa Island Fire Department, EMS, and Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, a 17-year old near drowning victim is expected to make a full recovery!
Jhian Belen of Enterprise Alabama was swimming in the water behind the Eglin NCO Beach Club on Okaloosa Island around 3 p.m. on July 6 when he began struggling. The unconscious teen was pulled to the shore where two off duty nurses began two rounds of CPR. They say Belen then coughed up water and began breathing on his own. He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and initially listed in critical condition, but Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies say Belen is now expected to fully recover.
They say the outcome could have been much different if not for the intense life-saving efforts of those involved.
