Take Stock in Children anuncia 25 nuevos estudiantes seleccionados para el programa de becas

Take Stock in Children (Piensa en Los Niño) introdujo recientemente a 25 nuevos becarios en la cena de lanzamiento anual de Take Stock. Ahora hay un total de 126 estudiantes en los grados 7-12 en el programa del Condado de Escambia. Los estudiantes recibirán una beca universitaria después de graduarse de la escuela secundaria, siempre que mantengan buenas calificaciones, asistencia y ciudadanía, sigan siendo libres de delitos y drogas, y se reúnan semanalmente con un mentor comunitario voluntario.

Take Stock in Children es una organización estatal sin fines de lucro que opera localmente bajo la  Escambia County Public Schools Foundation. Take Stock ofrece “becas, mentores y esperanzas” para los jóvenes merecedores seleccionados a través de un proceso de solicitud basado en las necesidades a través de las escuelas secundarias públicas al final de su 6 ° grado.   • Ransom Middle School  – Kaylee Emmons, Bobbie-Sue Jarrell, Quentin Lewis-Wright, Malachi Williams
  • Workman Middle School – Nancy Mendez-Rostro, Chancellor Washington

Take Stock in Children Announces 25 New Students Selected For Scholarship Program

large group of students holding certificatesTake Stock in Children recently introduced 25 new scholarship recipients at the annual Take Stock Kickoff Dinner. There are now a total of 126 students in grades 7-12 in Escambia County’s program. Students will receive a college scholarship upon graduation from high school as long as they maintain good grades, attendance and citizenship, remain crime and drug free, and meet weekly with a volunteer community mentor.

Take Stock in Children is a statewide non-profit organization operating locally under the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation. Take Stock provides “scholarships, mentors & hope” to deserving young people selected through a need-based application process through the public middle schools at the end of their 6th grade year.   Scholarship donations from local foundations, organizations, businesses and individuals are matched dollar-for-dollar when scholarships are purchased from Florida Prepaid College Foundation each year and are held until students successfully graduate from high school.
