Pensacola organiza la Marcha de las Mujeres (Women’s March) 2018
PENSACOLA, Fla. – En conexión con Women’s March en Washington y Women’s March Florida, Pensacola organizará una marcha local el sábado 20 de enero del 2018 a partir de las 10 a.m. en Plaza de Luna, ubicado en el 900 South Palafox Street. El público está invitado a asistir.
“Nuestro objetivo es crear conciencia y crear un cambio social transformador para las mujeres, incluidas las mujeres negras, nativas, pobres, inmigrantes, discapacitadas, musulmanas, lesbianas, queer y trans”, dijo Haley Morrisette de Black Women Empower Collective y organizadora del Pensacola Women’s March.
La misión de Women’s March es aprovechar el poder político de diversas mujeres para abordar lo siguiente:
- Poner fin a la violencia, incluida la rendición de cuentas en casos de brutalidad policial, poner fin a la discriminación racial y dirigirse a las comunidades de color.
- Derechos reproductivos, incluidos los fondos para la atención de la salud reproductiva, los servicios, el control de la natalidad y la atención y prevención del VIH / SIDA.
- LGBTQIA + Derechos, incluido el poder para controlar un cuerpo propio y libre de normas de género, expectativas y estereotipos.
- Derechos de los trabajadores, incluida la rendición de cuentas, la seguridad y la equidad, permisos familiares remunerados suficientes, atención médica y el derecho a organizarse y luchar por un salario mínimo vital.
- Derechos civiles, incluida la libertad de culto sin temor a la intimidación o el acoso y la libertad de expresión.
- Derechos de discapacidad, incluyendo romper barreras de acceso, inclusión e independencia.

Pensacola Hosts 2018 Women’s March
PENSACOLA, Fla. – In connection with Women’s March on Washington and Women’s March Florida, Pensacola will host a local march on Sat., Jan. 20, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m. at Plaza de Luna, located at 900 South Palafox Street. The public is invited to attend.
“We aim to raise awareness and create transformative social change for women—all women—including black, native, poor, immigrant, disabled, Muslim, lesbian, queer and trans women,” said Haley Morrisette of Black Women Empower Collective and organizer of the Pensacola Women’s March.
The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women to address the following:
- Ending violence including providing accountability in cases of police brutality, ending racial profiling and targeting communities of color.
- Reproductive Rights including funding for reproductive healthcare, services, birth control and HIV/AIDS care and prevention.
- LGBTQIA+ Rights including power to control one own body and free from gender norms, expectations and stereotypes.
- Workers’ Rights including accountability, security and equity, sufficient paid family leave, healthcare and the right to organize and fight for a living minimum wage.
- Civil Rights including freedom to worship without fear of intimidation or harassment and freedom of speech.
- Disability Rights including breaking barriers to access, inclusion and independence.
- Immigrant Rights including immigrant and refugee rights regardless of status or country of origin.
- Environmental Justice including the right to clean water and air and protections for environment, climate and natural resources.
