La ‘Iluminación del árbol de Navidad’ de Mobile está programada para el viernes 17 de noviembre
MOBILE, Alabama – El evento anual de iluminación del árbol de Navidad de la ciudad de Mobile en Mardi Gras Park está programado para el viernes 17 de noviembre.
El encendido del árbol de Navidad se ha convertido en el punto de lanzamiento anual de la temporada navideña en Mobile y es el primero de varios eventos con temas navideños organizados por la ciudad de Mobile y el Departamento de Parques y Recreación de Mobile (MPRD). El evento del año tendrá lugar de 5:30 p.m. a 9 p.m. el viernes 17 de noviembre en Mardi Gras Park. El evento contará con un DJ en vivo, manualidades navideñas para niños, oportunidades para tomar fotografías para familias y, por supuesto, la aparición del mismísimo Papá Noel.
“La iluminación del árbol se ha convertido en el evento anual favorito de mi familia y de muchas otras personas en nuestra comunidad,” dijo el alcalde Stimpson. “Todos los Mobilianos están invitados a ayudarnos a dar la bienvenida a la temporada navideña mientras celebramos con nuestros amigos, seres queridos y compañeros de la comunidad.”
Las festividades de este año comenzarán a las 5:30 p.m. con la actuación del Coro de Misas Comunitarias del MPRD. Papá Noel llegará a las 6:30 p.m. justo cuando el alcalde Stimpson enciende el árbol de Navidad. Finalmente, Los Sugarplums cerrarán el evento con una actuación en vivo de 7 p.m. a 9 p.m.

Mobile’s ‘Lighting of the Christmas Tree’ set for Friday, Nov. 17
MOBILE, Ala. – The City of Mobile’s annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree event in Mardi Gras Park is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17.
The Lighting of the Christmas Tree has become the annual launch point for the Holiday Season in Mobile, and it is the first of several holiday-themed events hosted by the City of Mobile and the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD). The year’s event will take from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, in Mardi Gras Park. The event will feature a Live DJ, Christmas crafts for children, photo opportunities for families, and, of course, an appearance by Santa Claus himself.
“The Tree Lighting has become a favorite annual event for my family and so many others in our community,” Mayor Stimpson said. “All Mobilians are invited to help us welcome the Christmas season as we celebrate with our friends, loved ones and fellow community members.”
This year’s festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a performance from the MPRD Community Mass Choir. Santa Claus will arrive at 6:30 p.m. just as Mayor Stimpson lights the Christmas tree. Finally, The Sugarplums will close out the evening with a live performance from 7 to 9 p.m.
