Iglesia en FWB invita a la comunidad a la celebración anual de la Natividad en vivo
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Fort Walton Beach presentará la celebración número 35 de la Natividad Viviente desde el jueves 14 de diciembre hasta el miércoles 20 de diciembre. La Natividad Viviente está abierta de 6 p.m. hasta las 8:30 p.m. cada noche. El evento es gratuito. First Baptist se refiere al pesebre viviente como un regalo para la comunidad. La entrada al campo de la natividad está en la esquina de 2nd Street y Church Avenue. Hay estacionamiento disponible en el estacionamiento de la iglesia.
El evento de este año no incluirá la opción de autoservicio. Al caminar, los invitados se tomarán una foto con María, José y el niño Jesús, así como con los tres Reyes Magos. La imagen estará esperando a que los visitantes la recojan al salir del evento. La foto familiar en el pesebre es un recuerdo que se remonta a más de tres décadas. El año pasado se tomaron más de 800 retratos familiares en el pesebre.
Los visitantes pueden acariciar y alimentar a los burros en miniatura, a las ovejas y a la camella Noemí. Los niños reciben un bastón de caramelo y aprenden la historia cristiana detrás de su invención. ¡La iglesia ofrece galletas, café o chocolate caliente! Si hace frío, hay fogatas donde reunirse para mantenerse calientes. Cada noche habrá cantos y música en vivo, cortesía del ministerio de música de la Primera Iglesia Bautista.
Esta celebración del nacimiento de Jesús incluye a los ángeles, María, José y el niño Jesús, los tres Reyes Magos y los pastores. Una ilustración de la historia completa de la salvación estará representada por recreaciones del milagroso nacimiento, crucifixión y resurrección de Jesús con soldados romanos en la cruz y ángeles en la tumba vacía.
La Primera Iglesia Bautista fue dirigida por el fallecido Dr. Bill Buckelew y su esposa, Jane, en la congregación hace 35 años cuando la iglesia inició la Natividad Viviente. Josh Nelson, ex gerente del rancho de Buckelew y ahora propietario de Rockin BAB, ha continuado el legado de Buckelew de proporcionar animales para Live Nativity.

FWB church invites community to annual live nativity celebration
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach will present the 35th live nativity celebration from Thurs., December 14 through Wed., December 20. The Live Nativity is open from 6 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. each night. The event is free. First Baptist refers to the live nativity as a gift to the community. The entrance to the nativity field is at the corner of 2nd Street and Church Avenue. Parking is available in the church parking lot.
This year’s event will not include a drive-through option. By walking through, guests will get their picture taken with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, as well as the three Wise Men. Picture will be waiting for visitors to pick up as they exit the event. The family photo in the nativity is a keepsake that now stretches back over three decades. Last year over 800 family portraits were taken in the nativity scene.
Visitors can pet and feed the miniature donkeys, sheep and Naomi the Camel. Children receive a candy cane and they learn the Christian story behind its invention. The church provides cookies, coffee or hot chocolate! If the weather is cold, there are fire pits to gather around to keep warm. Each night there will be live singing and music courtesy of the First Baptist Church music ministry.
This celebration of the birth of Jesus includes angels, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, the three Magi, and shepherds. An illustration of the complete salvation story will be represented by reenactments of Jesus’ miraculous birth, crucifixion and resurrection with Roman soldiers at the cross and angels at the empty tomb.
First Baptist Church was led by the late Dr. Bill Buckelew and his wife, Jane, in the congregation 35 years ago when the church started the Live Nativity. Josh Nelson, Buckelew’s former ranch manager and now the Rockin BAB owner, has continued Buckelew’s legacy of providing the animals for the Live Nativity.
