FLORIDA—Para ayudar a las familias de la Florida a través de todo el estado a disfrutar de una temporada de vacaciones felices y saludables, el Florida Department of Health se está asociando con la North Carolina State University para ofrecer el Maintain, Don’t Gain! (Mantener, No Subir de Peso) por tercer año consecutivo. Este desafío gratuito de siete semanas va desde el 14 de noviembre hasta el 31 de diciembre y ofrece a los participantes consejos, trucos e ideas para ayudar a mantener su peso durante la temporada navideña.

El Desafío de Vacaciones, es el segundo con más participantes de los 50 estados, y reciben consejos útiles para disfrutar las fiestas de una manera más saludable. Los participantes en el desafío del año pasado experimentaron resultados beneficiosos. El sesenta y siete por ciento informó que mantuvieron su peso, el 18 por ciento perdió tres a cinco libras y el 98 por ciento dijo que seguirá utilizando las estrategias aprendidas durante el desafío.

El Desafío de las Fiestas del 2016 incluye:

  • Siete boletines semanales entregados a su bandeja de entrada;
  • Consejos para recibir un Día de Acción de Gracias más saludable, manejar el estrés de las fiestas y sobrevivir a una fiesta;
  • Desafíos semanales, ganadores y premios;
  • Apoyo a través de las redes sociales;

Many Americans gain between one and five pounds each holiday season. Last year, more than 1,600 Floridians participated in the Maintain, Don’t Gain! Holiday Challenge, the second most participants of all 50 states, and received helpful advice on enjoying the holidays in a more healthy way.

FLORIDA—To help Florida families across the state enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season, the Florida Department of Health is partnering with North Carolina State University to offer the Maintain, Don’t Gain! Holiday Challenge for the third year in a row. This free seven-week challenge runs from Nov. 14 through Dec. 31 and provides participants with tips, tricks and ideas to help maintain their weight throughout the holiday season.

Many Americans gain between one and five pounds each holiday season. Last year, more than 1,600 Floridians participated in the Maintain, Don’t Gain! Holiday Challenge, the second most participants of all 50 states, and received helpful advice on enjoying the holidays in a more healthy way. Participants in last year’s challenge experienced beneficial results. Sixty-seven percent reported they maintained their weight, 18 percent lost three to five pounds and 98 percent said they will continue to use the strategies learned during the challenge.

The 2016 Holiday Challenge includes:
