If you possess a Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree, you may be eligible to enter the teaching profession and obtain a temporary certificate. Individuals with an Associates degree, may be interested in becoming a Substitute Teacher or Teacher Assistant. As a college student, becoming a substitute will provide quality classroom experience and a flexible schedule. The ECSD is also hiring bus operators (SBOs). The hourly rate for beginning bus operators has been raised $12.16 and driver trainees will now be paid for driver training hours.
SBOs training and placement take 3 to 4 weeks, and assistance is provided to obtain all the requirements including assistance with preparation for the test required to obtain a CDL license from the DMV. Our process includes classroom training and on-the-road driver training.
The hiring goal is to be fully-staffed and prepared for the first day of school on August 12th. The Transportation Department accepting full time (36 – 40 hours per week) and substitute drivers for part-time employment.
