Gulf Coast Grooves trae una noche de rock y reggae al Mardi Gras Park
Easy Star All-Stars y Letters to Cleo darán inicio a la serie de conciertos de Mobile
Mobile, Alabama — El Departamento de Eventos de la Ciudad de Mobile dará inicio a la serie de conciertos Gulf Coast Grooves el sábado 30 de mayo, con una velada gratuita de música en vivo, food trucks y vendedores locales en el corazón del centro de Mobile.
El concierto inaugural de la serie tendrá lugar de 6:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. en el Mardi Gras Park, ubicado en el 109 de Government Street. Las puertas abrirán a las 5:00 p. m., y se invita a los asistentes a traer sillas o mantas para disfrutar de una noche de rock y reggae en uno de los espacios de reunión más emblemáticos del centro de la ciudad.
El cartel del evento presenta a dos agrupaciones reconocidas a nivel nacional. El colectivo de reggae Easy Star All-Stars subirá al escenario a las 6:15 p. m. Conocido por sus reinterpretaciones en clave de reggae de álbumes clásicos —tales como Dub Side of the Moon (una versión reggae de Dark Side of the Moon de Pink Floyd) y Radiodread (una versión de OK Computer de Radiohead)—, el grupo ha cultivado una base de seguidores internacional al fusionar el roots reggae con creativos tributos a discos icónicos del rock.
Encabezando la velada a las 7:30 p. m. estará la banda de rock alternativo Letters to Cleo. Este grupo, con sede en Boston, alcanzó la fama en la década de 1990 con éxitos como “Here & Now” y “Awake,” y es ampliamente reconocido por sus apariciones en las bandas sonoras de películas como 10 Things I Hate About You (10 razones para odiarte).

Easy Star All-Stars and Letters to Cleo to kick off Mobile concert series
Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile’s Events Department will kick off the Gulf Coast Grooves concert series on Saturday, May 30, with a free evening of live music, food trucks, and local vendors in the heart of downtown Mobile.
The opening concert in the series will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mardi Gras Park, located at 109 Government Street. Gates open at 5 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of rock and reggae in one of the city’s signature downtown gathering spaces.
The lineup features two nationally recognized acts. Reggae collective Easy Star All-Stars will take the stage at 6:15 p.m. Known for their reggae reinterpretations of classic albums, such as Dub Side of the Moon (a reggae version of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon) and Radiodread (a version of Radiohead’s OK Computer), the group has built an international following by blending roots reggae with creative tributes to iconic rock records.
Headlining the evening at 7:30 p.m. is alternative rock band Letters to Cleo. The Boston-based group rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits like “Here & Now” and “Awake,” and they are widely recognized for their appearances on the soundtracks of films including 10 Things I Hate About You.
The event will be emceed by local favorite Levi Sims alongside DJ Blayze.
Gulf Coast Grooves is designed to bring residents and visitors together through live music and community energy. In addition to the performances, attendees can enjoy food trucks and vendors throughout the evening. Admission is free and open to the public.
