42nd Alabama State Games Registration Opens MARCH 1 at ALAGAMES.com
BIRMINGHAM, ALA—La Fundación ASF, la organización sin fines de lucro detrás de los Juegos Estatales de Alabama, anuncia con orgullo que la inscripción para todos los deportes se abrirá el 1 de marzo en ALAGAMES.com. Oportunidades de becas académicas

Este año, la Fundación ASF otorgará 34 becas académicas por un total de $42,000 el viernes 13 de junio de 2025; se otorgarán doce becas de $1,000 después de la Cumbre de liderazgo de atletas de State Farm y otras 22 (20 becas de $1,000 y 2 becas de $5,000) al final de la Ceremonia de apertura. Para calificar para el sorteo de becas, los atletas deben seguir dos pasos cruciales: registrarse para competir en cualquiera de los 27 deportes de los 42.º Juegos Estatales de Alabama y luego estar dentro del Legacy Arena en el BJCC el 13 de junio para participar en la Cumbre de liderazgo de atletas de State Farm y la Ceremonia de apertura. 42nd Alabama State Games Registration Opens MARCH 1 at ALAGAMES.com
BIRMINGHAM, ALA—The ASF Foundation, the nonprofit organization behind the Alabama State Games, proudly announces that registration for all sports will open on March 1 at ALAGAMES.com. The 42nd annual Alabama State Games will take place June 13-15 and, for the third year, will be hosted by the City of Birmingham and Jefferson County.
“The ASG team dedicates itself each year to crafting an unforgettable experience for athletes of all ages across Alabama,” said Laura Creel Burt, Executive Director of the ASF Foundation. “Our lineup has something for everyone. This year, basketball and softball make their return, while dance debuts — bringing the total number of sports to 27. No other event in Alabama provides the Olympic-style experience or the scholarship opportunities that the Alabama State Games offer.”
Academic Scholarship Opportunities
A major highlight of the Alabama State Games is the scholarship initiative offered through the ASF Foundation. The scholarship initiative so far has awarded $416,000 through 613 scholarships.
“We have the opportunity to change someone’s life by helping them achieve academic success – which is part of our mission,” Burt said. “We want our athletes to know that we believe in not only their athletic ability but also their academic ability.”
This year the ASF Foundation will be awarding 34 academic scholarships totaling $42,000 on Friday, June 13, 2025; Twelve, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded after the State Farm Athlete Leadership Summit, and another 22 (20 $1,000 scholarships and 2 $5,000 scholarships) awarded at the end of the Opening Ceremony. To qualify for the scholarship drawing, athletes have to take two crucial steps: Register to compete in any of the 42nd Alabama State Games 27 sports and then be inside Legacy Arena at the BJCC on June 13 to take part in the State Farm Athlete Leadership Summit and the Opening Ceremony. Both of these events are free to the public. The Opening Ceremony will be televised and streamed across the Alabama State Games Media Network.
Honoring Dads on Father’s Day Weekend
The Honoring Our Heroes program aligns with Father’s Day this year, allowing athletes to celebrate the dads, fathers, and father figures who play an instrumental role in their lives. This program will highlight their dedication, sacrifices, and profound impact on their families and communities.

“The Honoring Our Heroes program is a special feature of the Alabama State Games, and this year, we are excited to dedicate it to celebrating the everyday heroism of fathers,” said Burt. “Fathers shape who we are, teaching life lessons in moments big and small—on the field, during road trips, or in quiet times after setbacks. Their guidance leaves a lasting impact. This year, as we honor our heroes, dads stand at the top of the list.”
A Tradition of Excellence and Community-Building
Since its inception in 1982 as part of the nationwide State Games movement, the Alabama State Games have promoted health, fitness, and friendly competition. Over the decades, the event has grown from four events and 600 athletes into Alabama’s largest annual, multi-sport event drawing thousands of athletes to compete in numerous gold-medal sports annually.
Burt added, “The Alabama State Games embody the core values of sports—teamwork, community, and achievement. To give every athlete the best chance to participate, we encourage early registration, as some sports have limited capacity and may fill up quickly.
