Festival Latino celebra diversidad y unidad
PENSACOLA, Fla. –El Festival Latino de 2018 fue otro éxito y trajo a Pensacola otro espectáculo latino innovador. Una de las presentaciones más emocionantes del día fue el espectáculo de carnaval de samba de Casa Samba.
Krew de Karnaval Marti Gras de Pensacola desfiló en el festival con bailarines de samba vestidos con trajes y plumas brillantes, bateristas de samba e incluso un caminante sobre pilotes. También caminaron con el Club de Español de Paxton High School y las hermanas de la hermandad de mujeres de Kappa Delta Chi, la primera hermandad de mujeres con base latina de la University of West Florida’s (Universidad de West Florida). La procesión lució banderas de los 20 países latinos y de los EE.UU.
El horario de los artistas fue largo y diverso. Incluyeron bailarines folklóricos de Perú y México, la instructora de Zumba Vanessa Mills, los artistas musicales Gabriel Acero, Jay el Revelde, Alexa Yanez y Angelz Music. Las bandas de interpretación fueron Proyecto Musical, Fermin y Merengue 4 y Mazizo Musical. El baile continuó sin parar durante casi nueve horas con DJ Pablo, DJ Roel y DJ Snoopy en los controles.
Los vendedores de comida representaron a Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, El Salvador, México, Puerto Rico, Chile e incluyeron helados y postres. Los vendedores de artesanías de Ecuador y Guatemala agregaron coloridas joyas y ropa a las festividades del evento.
El periódico La Costa Latina da un agradecimiento especial a los patrocinadores anuales del festival Visit Pensacola, University of West Florida, Gulf Power y Baptist Health Care. Además, los patrocinadores adicionales se anuncian en esta edición.
Latino Festival celebrates diversity and unity
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The 2018 Latino Festival was another hit and brought to Pensacola another groundbreaking Latino show. One of the most exciting presentations of the day was the samba carnaval show by Casa Samba.
Pensacola’s Krew de Karnaval Marti Gras krew paraded into the festival with samba dancers dressed in shiny costumes and feathers, samba drummers and even a stilt walker. They also walked with the Paxton High School Spanish Club and sorority sisters of Kappa Delta Chi, the University of West Florida’s first Latina based sorority. The procession brandished flags from all 20 Latino countries and the U.S.
The schedule of performers was long and diverse. They include folklorico dancers from Peru and Mexico, Zumba instructor Vanessa Mills, musical artists Gabriel Acero, Jay el Revelde, Alexa Yanez and Angelz Music. Performing bands were Proyecto Musical, Fermin y Merengue 4 and Mazizo Musical. The dancing continued non-stop for nearly nine hours with DJ Pablo, DJ Roel and DJ Snoopy at the controls.
Food vendors represented Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Chile and included ice cream and desserts. Craft vendors from Ecuador and Guatemala added colorful jewelry and clothing to the event’s festivities.
