Saenger celebra 100 años
PENSACOLA, Fla. – El teatro Saenger abrió sus puertas por primera vez el 2 de abril de 1925. Para celebrar este gran cumpleaños, los Amigos del Saenger, la Administración del Saenger y la Ciudad de Pensacola ofrecen varios eventos para conmemorar el centenario.
2 de abril de 2025 – Reconocimiento del centenario
12 p. m. – Inauguración
Tómese un momento para celebrar el centenario el mismo día en que el Saenger abrió sus puertas hace 100 años. Participarán la Cámara de Comercio de Pensacola, el alcalde D.C. Reeves y los Amigos del Saenger. La celebración se trasladará al vestíbulo y se compartirá un pastel de cumpleaños.
1 – 5 p.m. – El Saenger ofrecerá visitas guiadas al teatro.
6 p.m. – Se proyectará la película muda “Los Diez Mandamientos.”
Este fue el primer espectáculo que se presentó en el Saenger el 2 de abril de 1925.
6 de abril de 2025 – Fiesta en la Calle
12 – 6 p.m. – La calle Palafox estará cerrada frente al teatro el domingo 6 de abril.
El escenario principal presentará actuaciones de nuestras organizaciones locales sin fines de lucro, como el Ballet Pensacola, la Ópera de Pensacola y la Orquesta Sinfónica de Pensacola, grupos de baile, la Banda Cívica, la Banda Knee Deep y ¡Golpe Latino! Camiones de comida, artículos de marca, puestos de comida y espectáculos secundarios más pequeños, como tragafuegos y artistas de globos, también formarán parte de las festividades.
4 p.m. y 7 p.m. – El Fantasma de la Ópera (Película Muda con Órgano)
Habrá dos proyecciones de la película muda “El Fantasma de la Ópera” con una introducción especial y una demostración del histórico Órgano de Tubos Saenger a cargo del organista profesional Alex Gartner.
Saenger celebrates 100 years
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Saenger opened her doors for the first time on April 2, 1925. To help celebrate this great birthday, the Friends of the Saenger, Saenger Management, and City of Pensacola, are offering several events to recognize the 100th Anniversary.
April 2, 2025 – 100th Anniversary Recognition
12 p.m. – Ribbon Cutting
Take time to recognize the 100th Anniversary on the actual day the Saenger opened 100 years ago. The Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, Mayor D.C. Reeves, and the Friends of the Saenger will participate. The celebration will then move into the lobby and have a “birthday cake” to share.
1 – 5 p.m. – The Saenger will offer guided tours of the theater.
6 p.m. – The silent movie “The Ten Commandments” will be screened.
This was the first show to play at the Saenger on April 2, 1925.
April 6, 2025 – Street Party
12 – 6 p.m. – Palafox Street will be closed in front of the theatre on Sunday, April 6.
The main stage will present performances from our local non-profit organizations including Ballet Pensacola, The Pensacola Opera, and The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, dance groups, the Civic Band, the Knee Deep Band and Golpe Latino! Food trucks, branded merchandise, concessions and smaller side shows like fire eaters, balloon artists, will also be part of the festivities.
4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – Phantom of the Opera (Silent Movie with Organ)
There will be two screenings of the silent movie ‘Phantom of the Opera’ with a special introduction and demonstration on the historic Saenger Pipe Organ by professional pipe organist Alex Gartner.
