PENSACOLA, Fla.—Felicitaciones al instructor de la University of West Florida, Hugo Reyes Durán, quien fue honrado con el  permio del año UWF’s Career Services High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning Faculty Member (Miembro de la Facultad de Prácticas de Alto Impacto de Servicios Profesionales de la UWF). El personal de la UWF dice que Durán ganó este premio debido a su dedicación a la preparación profesional de los estudiantes y ex alumnos.

Durán nació y creció en las Islas Canarias, España. Completó una licenciatura en Travel Industry Management en la University of Hawai Manoa, donde también fue un nadador profesional, clasificado entre los más rápidos del mundo en los 50 metros estilo libre en 2004.

El Sr. Reyes Durán tiene un MBA y un Máster en Marketing Online, Mobile and Digital Business. Tiene más de 10 años de experiencia en la industria, se centró en la gestión, en 5 hoteles con calificación Diamond y Leading Hotels of the World. Su experiencia profesional incluye compañías reconocidas como Starwood, Fairmont y Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. También administró operaciones en el famoso Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque Resort en España y ayudó a desarrollar e inaugurar el famoso Castadiva Resort en Lago di Como, Italia.

Más recientemente, el Sr. Reyes Durán formó parte de Melia Hotels International’s Corporate, donde participó en la reinvención de la empresa y en el diseño, desarrollo y supervisión de las mejores marcas de alta calidad de hoteles y complejos de la compañía (Gran Melia Hotels and Resorts , Melia Hotels and Resorts y Me by Melia), como Brand Manager regional y Guest Experience. Él supervisó directamente más de 20 resorts y hoteles de lujo.

Reyes Durán también ha sido un emprendedor en el pasado. Fundó una empresa de monetización de marketing en línea y medios sociales, que fue seleccionada entre las 20 empresas más innovadoras de España.

Duran was born and raised in the Canary Islands, Spain. He completed a BS in Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii Manoa, where he also was a professional swimmer, ranked among the fastest in the world in the 50 freestyle in 2004.

Mr. Reyes Duran has an MBA, and a Masters in Online Marketing, Mobile and Digital Business. He has over 10 years of industry experience, focused on management, in 5 diamond-rated and Leading Hotels of the World hotels and resorts. His professional experience includes renowned companies such as Starwood, Fairmont, and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. He also managed operations in the renowned Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque Resort in Spain and helped develop and opened the famous Castadiva Resort in Lago Di Como, Italy.

Most recently, Mr. Reyes Duran was part of Melia Hotels International’s Corporate, where he participated in the re-invention of the company, and in the design, development and supervision of the company’s top premium hotel and resort brands (Gran Melia Hotels and Resorts, Melia Hotels and Resorts and Me by Melia), as Regional Brand and Guest Experience Manager. He directly oversaw over 20 luxury resorts and hotels.

Reyes Duran has also been an entrepreneur in the past. He founded an online marketing and social media monetization company, which was selected among the Top 20 Most Innovative companies in Spain.
