SHALIMAR, Fla.—La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Okaloosa emitió un anuncio de que tienen una política de no tolerancia con respecto a las amenazas escolares. El anuncio se produjo después de que un estudiante de la Escuela Intermedia Meigs escribió una nota en la que describía la amenaza que mencionaba la intención de matar a un maestro en Meigs.

Una nota manuscrita que describe la amenaza fue encontrada en un baño de niños en la escuela alrededor de las 7 a.m. del 13 de marzo y entregada al Oficial de Recursos Escolares (ORE, por sus siglas en inglés) para investigar. El ORE rastreó la nota a un estudiante de 11 años que dice que la escribió a fines de 2017, pero fue “más como una broma.”

El estudiante fue entregado al Departamento de Justicia Juvenil y ha sido acusado de emitir una amenaza por escrito de matar o causar lesiones corporales.

top of police car lightsSHALIMAR, Fla.—The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office issued an announcement that they have a zero tolerance policy in regards to school threats. The announcement came after a Meigs Middle School student wrote a note outlining the threat which mentioned an intention to kill a teacher at Meigs.

A handwritten note outlining the threat was found in a boys’ bathroom at the school around 7 a.m. on March 13 and turned over to the School Resource Officer (SRO) to investigate. The SRO traced the note to an 11 year old student who says he wrote it in late 2017, but it was “more of a joke.”

The student was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice and has been charged with issuing a written threat to kill or do bodily injury.
